In one of our first energy projects, we needed detailed asset data to move forward with the service we were building.
Getting access to that ended up taking weeks.
The two people who knew everything had just left the organization, leaving behind scattered Excel files, incomplete documentation, and old emails.
We used what we found, interviewed technicians and other employees, spoke with customers, connected to external data sources, and pieced everything together by hand.
Once we finally had the complete picture, we had to model and expose the information so it could be used in the service we were actually building.
While working on it, we heard that other teams were facing similar problems. Instead of just fixing our part, we modeled and shared the data so everyone in the company could use it.
This system became a cornerstone of almost all their new products ... and is still in use almost a decade later.
Since then, we've helped many customers build modern energy and water applications. And the story is often the same: the project starts with missing or unreliable asset information. Creating a one-off is manageable, but across dozens of initiatives, it becomes a massive drain on time and resources.
Atlas was built to change that.
